New Reads - November
I have recently purchased a couple of new books to add to my ever-growing collection and thought I would do a bit of a review on each. A good book is the perfect gift for a loved one and with Christmas right around the corner, these may be the perfect present you were looking for!
The first book I purchased recently was ‘Paris’ by Australian Fashion Illustrator Megan Hess. I was lucky enough to attend her book signing in New York where she spoke fondly of Paris and of creating the gorgeous coffee table book. I even got to meet Megan herself and was blown away at how charming, glamorous and down to earth she is! Make sure and follow Megan on Instagram for daily inspiration.
Paris is a novel written and illustrated by Megan Hess, which includes all the best sights of the city of lights through a fashion eye! The book is broken up into sections including Do/Play, Shop, Sleep and Eat/Drink. Each page gives you a short, yet poetic description and gorgeous illustration of Parisian sites. Megan’s signature whimsical men and women pose elegantly in front of famous storefronts, hotel lobby’s and cafes. The entire book is a work of art and I know I will be picking it up time and time again to look at the beautiful illustrations and imagine I am on the bank of the river Seine or walking down Avenue Montaigne, croissant in hand.

The next book I picked up in my travels is ‘Tanya’s Christmas’ by Tanya Burr. Tanya is a social influencer, Youtuber, Beauty Guru and even has her own makeup line! She is one of my favourite Youtubers to watch and come Vlogmas I can’t get enough! (For those of you who don’t know – Vlogmas is a daily vlogging challenge, where you upload a video everyday in the lead up to Christmas). Tanya is an inspiration when it comes to Christmas festivities, décor and baking, so I am glad she has released this book just in time for the holiday season!
Tanya’s Christmas is a gorgeous coffee table book that you can bring out each year for holiday inspiration and baking recipes to share with the entire family. The book has different chapters including Christmas activities, party planning, home decoration, beauty, holiday dressing, baking and much more! The Christmas cocktails would have to be one of my favourite sections and I can’t wait to try my hand at making some this December. I also loved hearing the stories of how Tanya celebrated Christmas with her family growing up and the old photos and letters to Santa she included. Tanya’s Christmas is definitely worth picking up to get into the Christmas spirit and is the perfect gift for a loved one or friend.
